Fish are drawn to bite marabou feathers because of the living, breathing, pulsating action marabou provides.  This will trigger their feeding instinct. Bass, walleye, trout, steelhead, crappie and anything that swims will take these jigs. Marabou jigs are easy to fish. Float them, cast them or drift them in deep or shallow water will produce the fish you are after. These jigs can also be tipped with live bait to intrigue the fish even more. Common live baits used are: maggots, wax worms, night crawlers and minnows, to name a few. Experiment with baits from your local area to entice fish.

Each Chagrin Jig is tied full with marabou feathers offering a nice full body that outlasts the competition. For each jig at the 1/16oz size, I tie in 3 clumps of feathers, working them up the shaft of the hook. This provides for the nice full body in the jig.

Each jig head is powder paint coated and cured for extra hardness (if painted).  The thread is double whip finished (knotted) and glued in place with an environmentally conscience head cement. When painting, I take care to not cover the fishing line eyelet with paint. Therefore, when switching colors or re-tying jigs you won't need to waste undue time with a special tool or other means to clear the eye free of the paint.

Standard Hooks are: Mustad, regular bend Aberdeen. These hooks are sharp and offer decent strength

Premium Hooks are: Mustad Double Strength Aberdeen Hook and are specifically designed for Steelhead and Salmon fishing. This hook is sharp and is a very strong hook. The eye of the hook is shorter than comparable hooks to produce more point exposure and more hookups.
